Auslan Fire Alarm SubsidyA subsidy is available to have Auslan enabled fire alarms installed in their homes for profoundly deaf Victorians who communicate via Auslan.
HEAR ServiceThe Hearing, Education & Aural Rehabilitation Service provides a range of programs for deaf or hard-of-hearing children, young people and adults and their families & friends, for those working with deaf or hard of hearing people and for members of the community.
Printed & telephone information, individual appointments and group programs are provided. Audiology services include hearing tests, demonstrations, fittings and maintenance of hearing aids and training courses in tinnitus management, deafness awareness and Auslan for people and agencies wishing to communicate with deaf people. Assistive listening devices are on display.
Transcription & Note-taking for Hearing- Impaired PeopleTranscription and note-taking services are provided in the areas of community welfare, education, employment & staff development, the law, medicine, rehabilitation and religion. Student bookings require written authorisation from the funding source.
